Matthew Bonito - Grade 6
Welcome. My name is Matthew Bonito and I joined St. Mark School in fall 2020 as the middle school Social Studies teacher!
I graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 2014 with my Bachelor's Degree and state certification to teach social studies to grades 7-12. In 2018, I graduated from SCSU again with a Master's Degree in History.
As an educator and historian, I have worked in many school districts throughout Connecticut as well as the state government itself. These experiences include public and private school assignments in Bridgeport, Newtown, Westport, New Haven, and Stamford. While working in these districts, I covered all grades from 2nd to 12th in urban and suburban environments, substitute taught, volunteered for afterschool activities, chaperoned field trips, completed paraprofessional assignments, and also instructed special education and highly gifted students as well.
Social studies and history have always been an essential component of who I am. Given my own Catholic upbringing, I believe that St. Mark School is the best place where I can use this passion for the benefit of the students. I look forward to a wonderful year!
