Remember,
In Spanish, when you talk about going to places, use al with el words:
el parque ---> Voy al parque
For words with la, use a la:
la tienda ---> Voy a la tienda.
Use voy to talk about yourself, vas to talk about your brothers, sisters and other kids, and va to talk to or about another person.
Voy, vas, and va all come from the verb ir, which means "to go."
(Yo) Voy a la escuela.
(Tú) Vas a la escuela.
(Él/Ella/Usted) Va a la escuela.
¿Cuáles son los días de la semana? (What are the days of the week?)
Son lunes, martes, miércoles, jueves, viernes, sábado y domingo. (They're Monday,
Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.)
Remember: Days of the week and months are written in lowercase in Spanish.
¿Y del fin de semana? (And when is the weekend?)
Sábado y domingo. (Saturday and Sunday)
¿Qué día es hoy? ¿Lunes? (What day is today? Monday?)
Sí, y mañana es martes, ¡claro! (Yes, and tomorrow is Tuesday.
Si hoy es lunes, ¿qué día era ayer? (If today is Monday, what day was yesterday?)
Ayer era domingo. (What day is it today?)
¿Adónde vas el lunes? (Where do you go Monday?)
Voy a la escuela. (I go to school.)
¿Cuándo vas al cine? (When do you go to the movies?)
Voy el domingo. OR Voy esta semana. (I go Sunday. OR I'm going this week.)
¿Adónde vas? (Where are you going?)
Voy al parque. (I'm going to the park.)
¿Cuándo vas al cine? (When do you go to the movie theater?)
Voy la próxima semana. (I'm going next week>)

Things to Remember
•. You should have handed in your ten (10) statements with verb ir.
• By now you should be able to identify and write sentences using colors, shapes and animals and use verbs ser (to be) and ir (to go)in questions and statements.
• You should have handed in Part B, p. 60, and Parts A and B, pp. 62-63.
• Revisit pp. 58-62. Remember to notice how the words that describe animals change when we talk about more than one.
Ex: El oso es negro. Los osos son negros.
La mariposa es amarilla. Las mariposas son amarillas.
El perro es grande. Los perros son grandes.
• Reinforcing the spelling of the names of animals with definite articles, pp. 50-52 and 57.

• Revisit pp. 50-53 and study pp. 54-57. Be ready to continue describing things based on their colors, shapes and sizes.

Different words for "brown" are castaño, café, marrón, and pardo.
