• ¿Cómo eres tú? You will be able to:
            • Talk about what you and others look like

• Study pp. 93-95 (Talking about more than one person
•  Revisit verb ser and write five (5) sentences with different subject pronouns. You should have .  hand in your sentences on Friday, May 13th.

•  Remember to continue practicing writing the vocabulary on pp. 60-61, 66 & 67 because you will continue using them in statements with verb ser (to be) & descriptive words.


Continue studying pp. 66-74 and review pp. 60-65. You should have handed in on Monday, April 8th your Picture/Questions about the relative or someone else you know that you've described in class following exercise C, p. 65.

Ex:    ¿Cómo es tu hermano? (How is your brother?)
           Mi hermano Felipe es fuerte y delgado. (My brother Felipe is strong and slim.) 

         ¿Cómo es el pelo de tu prima? (How is your cousin's hair?)
            Es lacio y castaño. (It is straight and brown.)

Things to Remember 
• Revisit pp. 50-55.  By now you should know how to use the different question/answer patterns and the vocabulary. Be sure to review them.

•  Continue reviewing clothing items, p. 40- 49. 
Ex: the raincoat - el impermeable
      the cap - la gorra 

• You should have handed in your 3 questions and answers using each of the following words: grande, mediano,  pequeño,  feo and bonito. Follow the pattern given on p. 47.
     Ex: ¿Cómo te queda el suéter anaranjado?
            Me queda grande.
   

• Reread pp 40-44. We will continue  talking about clothes that people wear.
Remember practice writing questions and answers following the patterns given below.  You must write 2 questions and answers for each of the patterns. 
  Ex:  ¿Qué ropa llevar hoy?
            Llevo un suéter y una falda.
 
         ¿Qué vas a llevar a la fiesta el sábado?

            Voy a llevar una camiseta y unos pantalones.
• Review pp. 35-36. 

By now you know that to talk about  what hurts, you use the verb doler. When  you want to say that something hurts you, use me duele. If more than one thing hurts, such as both of your feet, use me duelen.  

  When you're asking someone else if something hurts them, use te duele.
  Ex. ¿Te duele el ojo?   Sí, me duele el ojo. No, no me duele el ojo.
          ¿Te duelen los ojos?   Sí, me duelen los ojos. No, no me duelen los ojos. (Notice that when more than one thing hurts, such as both of your eyes, you use me duelen).
 You've also practiced naming parts of your body, your head and face with verbs such as tocar and ser (to be). Now we will continue practicing affirmative and negative statements wth verb ser.
  Ex: ¿Es el codo?
          Sí, es el codo.
          No, no es el codo.
           
        ¿Son los codos?
           Sí, son los codos. 
           No, no son low codos.

Follow the model given previously to write 3 questions, and their answers in affirmative and negative form.

Revisit pp. 33-37 to reenforce your learning.

Ex: ¿Qué parte de la cara es ésta?
       Es la nariz,  por supuesto.

• Continue practicing spelling the parts of the body.  You must be able to spell them.
• Continue studying verbs ser & tener. 



We have had extra practice on greeting your friends in Spanish and asking how they are, using numbers to add and count among others things, and pointing to objects and saying their names using the indefinite or definite articles.  So please:

• Remember to reinforce the following material by practicing the given patterns on
use of colors, animals and shapes and numbers in combination with the indefinite  and definite articles through Alan's Technique. Remember that you must be able to use the articles in singular and plural forms in sentences (See pp. 4-14, book: ¿Qué Tal?  ¡Viva el Español! Spanish 1A).

Ex. ¿Qué hay en el cuadrado?
        En el cuadrado hay cuatro ratones.
       Hay cuatro ratones.
 
      ¿De qué color son los ratones? 
        Los ratones son gris.

      ¿Cuántos loros hay?
        Hay un loro.

Remember to:
•  Increase your vocabulary by using "Alan's technique (from FluentU [email protected]):
      -  Before you go into the shower, identify 5 words that you want to learn.
      -  Create a sentence that links those 5 words.
      -  The sentence doesn't have to make sense. It just has to be highly memorable.
      -  Keep repeating that sentence to yourself in the shower.
      -  See if you can remember it until you're done showering.
