Mrs. Olins

Hello My Name Is...

Mrs. Olins

Hi, my name is Lynn Harris Olins. This is my first year at St. Mark School and I am very excited to be here.  Before I came to St. Mark School, I worked at the Discovery Museum and Planetarium in Bridgeport, CT for 10 year.  My job there was Director of Education. While there, I had many amazing experiences, including have the opportunity to travel to NASA  Goddard in Maryland and Jet Propulsion Labs in Pasadena to be trained in many NASA education programs. I love science and have since I was a kid. I left the museum because I really missed being in the classroom.  Prior to the Discovery Museum I was a teacher with Fairfield Public Schools for 10 years.  I have also taught biology for Choate Rosemary Hall's Summer Programs.
When I am not at school, you will find me spending time with my family. My husband and I have two sons, Sam and Matt.  We like to do activities as a family such as skiing, playing football in the backyard or playing board games.  Settlers of Catan is currently our family's favorite. I also have several pets.  I have a schnoodle (part schnauzer, part poodle, all crazy) named Fergus MacDuff, an 7 year old leopard gecko named Cheetie, a frog named Albie, and a turtle named Grumpy who lives at school during the academic year.
