2009 Nationally Recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence

ST. MARK SCHOOL is unique from other local Catholic and public schools in Stratford, CT. Our Catholic faith is the foundation for our community and the educational initiatives that form the whole child through evangelical values.  At St. Mark School, we form students into true disciples of Christ, fostering a strong sense of Catholic identity and pride. Within a safe and nurturing environment, we encourage our students to deepen their faith, strive for academic excellence, and live out the teachings of Christ in their everyday actions. Service to others is at the heart of our community, instilling in each student a commitment to love, integrity, and making a positive impact in the world around them. Through this mission, St. Mark School not only prepares students for academic achievement but also for a life of faithful service, rooted in Catholic values.

The Little Lions Preschool exceeds our expectations. Julie goes above and beyond daily for the children and does it all with a smile. Our daughter is excited to go to school and continues to grow exponentially each new day. We are eager to see what the future holds for our daughter at St. Mark School.

Little Lions is a wonderful place where your child will blossom right before your eyes. Mrs. Larracuente’s developmentally appropriate approach to teaching and learning is a true gift. We have been lucky to have two of our children go through the program and we couldn’t be happier with their first school experience. Our children were more than ready for Kindergarten!!

I was fortunate to attend St. Mark School for my elementary education, where I not only received a strong academic foundation but also had the gift of deepening my faith in God. Now, as a third-grade teacher, I feel truly blessed to be back at the school I cherished as a child. It’s a joy to collaborate with my fellow faculty members, some of whom were once my teachers. The sense of community at St. Mark School is as vibrant and strong as it was when I was a student. It truly feels like coming home!

St. Mark School is such a close knit community. We could not have asked for a more caring environment for our daughter. Each day we feel as if we are sending her to her second family. She feels safe and happy at school. The teachers are wonderful, providing top notch academics and individual attention and care to all children. St. Mark is not only preparing our young children academically, but also preparing them to become young men and women who are kind, altruistic and possess a strong moral compass. We are so happy that we chose St. Mark and could not have asked for a better school!

St. Mark is a 2009 Nationally Recognized Blue Ribbon School of Excellence serving students in PreK-8.

Our Youngest Mystery Reader Yet! Most of our Mystery Readers who generously volunteer their time to share a story with our students are parents. But last week, our Grade 8 class received a very special surprise, one that we believe may be a first in recent memory at St. Mark!Their Mystery Reader was… a Kindergartner!Brave Jackson accepted the challenge of reading “Broccoli is Trying to Kill Me!” to the Class of 2026, and he did it with incredible courage and confidence. Accompanied by his dad, Jackson climbed up onto the stool, opened his book, and began reading to 26 eighth graders. The room was so quiet you could have heard a pin drop as the class listened attentively to their very special guest reader. It was a beautiful moment that perfectly captured what makes our school community so special, students of all ages encouraging one another and sharing in the joy of reading. Our eighth graders showed such kindness and respect, and Jackson showed all of us that a love of reading, and a little bravery, can go a long way.We are so proud of Jackson’s courage, confidence, and love of books at such a young age! Moments like this remind us that at St. Mark, our students grow together, no matter their grade. #wearefamily ... See MoreSee Less

As part of our Read Across America Week celebrations, our students had a blast dressing down as their favorite book characters! The hallways were filled with creativity, imagination, and lots of literary fun. From Waldo, to Fancy Nancy, to Nancy Drew, to Aaron Judge, and everything in between, we loved seeing the many characters our students brought to life. It was wonderful to watch our Little Lions proudly share the books and characters that inspire their love of reading.A big thank you to our students and families for bringing so much creativity and excitement to this special day! ...
